O'Reilly Auto Parts Chooses Cybera to Implement
Retail Broadband Network
Cybera to proactively manage network nationwide

NEW YORK (NRF BOOTH #361) — JANUARY 15, 2008 —Cybera, a leading MPLS-based managed service provider, today announced that O’Reilly Auto Parts, Inc. has selected the company to implement a secure, PCI-compliant broadband network solution to address increasing bandwidth needs at a number of their locations. O’Reilly is one of the largest specialty retailers of automotive aftermarket parts, tools, supplies, equipment and accessories in the United States.

O’Reilly chose Cybera on the strength of its track record as a managed service provider focusing on the specific needs of large-size merchants in retail, restaurant, and convenience store environments, its standardized Cisco router offering, and Cybera’s leadership as a PCI-compliant service provider.

The new MPLS network connects O’Reilly’s retail locations to the private Cybera core network for business-critical retail applications such as credit card transaction processing and inventory management. Included in the solution are a number of Wireless Broadband access connections, which O’Reilly is able to leverage to conduct high quality, consistently successful store grand openings. The wireless access option gives them broadband performance, and can be up and running in less than a week from the time an order is placed.

O’Reilly identified a need for a higher speed network alternative after completing development of a new bandwidth-intensive retail application for all its stores. The new retail application touts an easy-to-use graphical user interface, and gives store employees access to real-time order and inventory data, and helps staff deliver the legendary O’Reilly customer service. In order to perform effectively, the new application demanded the company’s IT, Telecom, and Retail Systems staffs upgrade its aging 56-Kbps frame relay network infrastructure.

Due to the demands placed on the retail applications to supply a stream of real-time information to stores, Cybera’s 24x7 proactive monitoring and management of each store’s circuits was also a critical factor in the decision to choose Cybera’s SmartNetwork service.

“We had been looking for a cost-effective broadband solution when Cybera contacted us. Their business model provided a successful broadband solution that encompasses our entire footprint, provides the security of a private network and meets the PCI compliance requirements of the retail industry,” said Jeanene Asher, Director of Telecommunications, O’Reilly Auto Parts, Inc. “The broadband network at each store meets the demands of our current environment, and is more than adequate for our future needs. We are excited about the opportunities and benefits that their solution will bring to our in-store applications.”

Growing at a rate of approximately 190 stores in 2007, O’Reilly has already experienced the benefits of Cybera’s managed implementation and dedicated project management team.

“O’Reilly has built a reputation of going above and beyond to serve customers,” said Dan Glennon, senior vice president of marketing and strategy, Cybera, Inc. “Cybera effectively offers an outsourced network operations team so a stretched-thin IT staff can focus on bringing value to the initiatives that help improve efficiency and productivity. Our dedicated product engineering, project management, and support teams have worked with O’Reilly’s IT, Telecom, and Retail Systems staff each step of the way to envision, design, and ultimately implement a flexible, PCI-compliant network that scales to meet the ongoing demands of a large and growing retail operation.”

Cybera’s custom design includes a wide range of highly reliable, broadband access technologies including MPLS+ T-1s, business-grade DSL, broadband wireless, and centralized firewall-protected Internet access with Cybera’s content filtering. Additionally, O’Reilly selected wireless broadband access that provides broadband connectivity in cases where primary access cannot be delivered fast enough to meet demands, such as store grand openings that require private network access on short notice.
