Position: QA Manager/Business Analyst
Location: Franklin, TN
Reports to: Director of Software Development
SUMMARY:
The QA Manager/Business Analyst is responsible for gathering and maintaining user software requirements, planning and executing of software testing prior to each deployment, and acting as the initial point of contact for production support.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to, acquiring the necessary working knowledge of departmental functions and their interaction with the core internal software systems; managing the inflow of feature requests, including documenting their impact to the system; producing and maintaining resource documents of software applications, including any changes, for use by departments as needed for training and support; becoming the point of initial contact for end users needing production support; tracking and prioritizing discovered defects; creating a process for user acceptance testing; performing exhaustive functional testing of software prior to deployment of new releases to ensure adherence to user requirements and resolution of detected defects; administering the change management process and scheduling deployments with all affected departments.
Experience:
- 4-6 years experience with software projects involving substantial end user interaction as a developer, tester, or project manager
- Minimum of 2 years experience acting as a point of contact or as production support
- Minimum of 2 years experience using SQL in an Oracle environment
- Experience performing functional software testing and developing testing scripts
- Significant knowledge of basic business processes such as ordering, fulfillment, accounting, recordkeeping, etc.
- Demonstrated ability to accurately and reliably manage information
- Exposure to project/defect tracking software systems such as Jira, MS Project, etc. and version control systems
- Proficiency in an OO software language, such as Java, C#, Smalltalk, etc.
- Knowledge of various software development methodologies such as XP, Agile, SDLC, etc.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Access & Microsoft Visio
